Midnight musings

Why is it you can fall asleep so easily in the couch after a long day, but get into bed and your mind races 207 different places?

It likely doesn't help I've been re-reading one of my favorite series: Adrian's Undead Diaries. Ok, really listening, not reading. Audible books for the WIN! It does make me feel like I'm cheating on my music, though. Anyway, it's exactly as the name indicates. Adrian's journals from the zombie apocalypse.

It's not keeping me awake because it's scary or anything. And I totally do not want to give anything away from these amazing books so I'll carefully explain.. we as humans think we have it all figured out. We do not. We wage war, we are unkind to strangers and each other. We expect the worst from each other, when we should expect kindness. We do not spread enough love. Love for ourselves, love for our brothers and sisters. Our expectations are reversed. We expect the worst and hope for

the best. I like to think most of the time I expect the best, but prepare for the worst. However, I know it's not true.

So a challenge to anyone reading this and myself: tomorrow when you prepare for your day expect that it will be a great day. Be prepared for anything, but expect the best, set your expectations for what you want to achieve/believe/manifest for the day.

While it still may rain.. You'll be smiling with your umbrella. 🌂
